Chinese Massage

Traditional Chinese massage therapy has become popular all around the world in recent years, due primarily to its unique ability to relieve stress and to treat or prevent many common illnesses. There are really two basic types of Chinese massage therapy, Zhi Ya and Tui Na. The exact technique, or mix of techniques used will vary depending on the patient’s complaints and situation, but both methods focus on improving the flow of the body’s natural life energy or qi, and guiding that flow to combat or prevent the imbalances of energy that lead to illness, infection, injury or stress.

Chinese Massage Benefits

A trained Chinese massage therapist gains an understanding of the natural pathways of energy through the body, and the effects when these pathways are blocked or restricted. Massage techniques closely related to acupuncture and acupressure are used to restore the normal balance of energies and assure the optimal functioning of all organs and systems in the body. Chinese massage is used by many sports personalities to keep themselves in top physical condition, and has been successfully used to treat arthritis, chronic pain and even many cardiovascular complaints.
